They are both underrated

They're about even compared to each other IMO, and are both in the top tier of the league with Chiefs, Bills, Bucs, 49ers

49ers???

With an untested QB and last year's star bitching about not wanting a dual role? In the same division as the Rams? The NFC is full of maybe teams but I'd like to know how you put San Fran above any of them. I see them as squarely in the pack of middlers.

Great defense — best in NFL

, pretty good talent on offense too though that’s where the questions are

QB upgrade with Lance in my opinion. Really gonna open the field for them.

Very well coached, got some vets with experience

Until they lost the NFC title game (which one could argue they should’ve won) they had beaten Rams 6 straight

There’s a lot of parity in league and obviously not shocking if they fall to middle of pack , but I also think they could very well win it all

That's what i'm thinking !

I agree Rams have edge at more positions. Bengals have clear edge at most important one (QB), plus the better back and receiving corp

Cincinnati offensive line gonna be a lot better this year too

Most QBs coming out never reach the potential of where they were selected or how they would project in the NFL. IMO , Lance isn't anywhere close to an upgrade. at least not this year..
Defense is good , maybe last year it was the best.. This year going in , the Packers defense is loaded, probably the best in the NFL.
Rams and Packers are head and shoulders ahead of the rest of the teams in NFC... Doesn't guarantee anything at this point,

Yeah I get that about QBs in general. But I think Lance was the underrated of the bunch. I think he’s gonna be really good.

His talent gap vs Jimmy is pretty wide. I think the year as a backup helped him a bit.

The offense might actually have a vertical component — they have good downfield route runners , but Jimmy doesn’t have a big arm at all

Injuries gonna dictate who the best defense is. Think it’ll be Niners again though based on personnel if injury luck evenly dispersed

Maybe GB in regular season

Just curious Mich,

Who do you think is really better than them? TB and LAR really the only two teams that seem to have solid arguments

Dallas and GB shouldn’t be taken seriously. They’ll look good at times during the regular season but we know what’s gonna happen again when it matters most

Don’t see anyone else even in the convo to be honest. Hell Minny and New Orleans should be in playoff hunt — that’s how bad the NFC is

Niners very well could (probably will) be a wild card team. But that doesn’t mean they’re not better than those w

Don't know, av. Like I said above the NFC has a lot of middlers. I'll have to get into the weeds during preseason and try to sort things out. Lance is one inch away from being a rookie QB. Not many rookie QBs get their teams to the playoffs. He would have to be the exception. With Deebo acting up I'm not very clear how good that offense will be. Kittle seems to be becoming injury prone. And I'm not at all clear that they have a great defense.

I do agree that the Rams and Bucs seem to hover above the rest. But The Pack could challenge them. Can Minnesota finally make a leap? Dallas isn't far behind. Philly may take a big step forward. And I kinda like New Orleans too. THe Cardinals and Niners have to be considered too. But I'd want pretty good odds for the Niners to even make the Playoffs.

We'll see. I rarely bet futures so if you take a position on the Niners I'll root for them. If Lance emerges as competent of course they'll move way up. IF.

Oh they do have a great defense. Gonna have a stronger secondary too, which isn't even that necessary when you have such a nasty front line.

Yeah I don't see it from the other teams as much. Like I alluded to, I expect Packers and Cowboys to have some good spots in the regular season beating up on bad divisional opponents. They'll be fun to bet on in spots this year, probably gonna pick em both a bit in the contest this year. But we both know they're gonna fold again in January - probably in a home playoff game. Then in the offseason we'll go through the drama and speculation about Rodgers, maybe some more about Dak now too. Lather, rinse, repeat. It's just who those teams are, and hard to watch people put so much faith into them.

Vikings, Saints, Eagles all very spotty talent wise, and don't have the experience IMO.

Lance is gonna surprise some people. I'm fairly confident that he'll end up being the best quarterback of this class. He's immensely talented and has a good head on his shoulders.
